Master off-camera flash on location or as a portable studio set up. Improve your flash photography and take better portraits with strobes, reflectors and natural light at the beautiful Ashridge House.
Gain experience learning the basics in flash photography, setting up the lights, photographing a model, building up from one light to multiple strobes, combining flashes with ambient light and white background photography.
The strobes will be provided and you are welcome to bring along your own so that you are confident when photographing with flash, natural light and reflectors.
Areas Covered: setting-up a portable studio, using speedlights, off-camera flash, find locations and posing.
Provided: the model, background, flashes and wireless connections. For cameras older than 2015 please check hot-shoe connection.
Equipment: DSLR, Compact System or Micro Four Thirds Cameras. Standard zoom lens & fast fixed lens are useful, please check if unsure.
Cards & Batteries: space on your SD cards, fully charged batteries including a spare.

Provisions: You will need to provide your own food on the training day as MelenTraining does not offer this facility. When we are on location there will be a break for lunch near cafes and restaurants and you are more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch.
Cancellation Policy: Costs are incurred when we run our training courses and for this reason we are unable to offer any refund in the event of your non-attendance on the day of the course that you have purchased. This is irrespective of your circumstances or reasons. If we receive notice one month before the date of your course that you unable to attend and we are able to fill your place then we will issue a credit note for an alternative course. If you are unable to attend with twelve months of the course date we will issue no further credit notes.
We reserve the right to remove, cancel or alter the date of any of our training courses, we will inform you of alternative dates and depending on the circumstances of the cancellation issue a full refund or credit note for a similar course. If the course is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions we will offer another date for the course, 1:1 training session or a credit note for a similar course.
Vouchers: All vouchers must be used with in 12 months of the date of purchase. Vouchers can be used as part or full payment of a course or 1:1 session.
Liability: Although every care will be provided by YellowMelen (MelenTraining) and Philip Richardson, no responsibility will be accepted for any indirect loss or damage caused to your equipment. As the client you will need adequate insurance against the loss or damage of your equipment.
